About Zuza makes

Zuza Makes is the leading purveyor of froggy bottoms and other cheeky silliness. My products combine innovation with silliness – my creatures always surprise you with a cheeky bottom!

From hand-drawn stickers, all cut in house, through a collection of seasonal notebooks and pens, and innovative cut-out cards, my stationery is extremely silly and very froggy. A wide collection of keyrings and cheeky socks, pins and patches allow you to accessorise in style. Finally, the collection of crochet plush, knitted scarves and painted denim jackets provide a one of a kind option for those wanting to get a carefully crafted statement piece.

Zuza Makes started in Autumn 2021 but due to the founder’s health it had to go on a nearly year-long hiatus. It wasn’t until March 2023 when the operation moved to Scotland that the brand found its footing. Since then we’ve been growing at a staggering speed, each year doing more events, creating more products, expanding into more shops and growing our cheeky family.

why Frogs?

During the pandemic there was a popular series of frog memes making rounds on social media. I remember looking at them then and thinking that the only thing they’re missing is a juicy bum.

I quickly sat down and created three illustrations – these became the “Flirty Frogs”. You can now see them as prints and stickers.

Around the same time I finally managed to finish my massive crochet blanket. Making and unmaking this blanket was how I learned to crochet over something like 3 years. Having finally concluded my work done to a satisfactory level, I decided that I don’t have to allow my memes to be dreams and I can make them into real 3D things.

The pandemic was a strange time and so, the Frogue Gang 1.0 was born, cheeked up and extremely green!

Since then I’ve come to appreciate frogs for their versatility and inherent quirkiness. It doesn’t take much for a frog to be easily recognised as a frog. This means they’re immensely mailable for injecting humour without needing to unnecessarily gender them. They can be framed in as vague or as specific a situation and the humour of unexpected “FROG” remains!

mind behind
the madness

Zuza is a full time maker and artist, with experience in many disciplines including illustration, graphic design, 3d rendering and others. She tries her hand at anything and everything and is passionate about always learning new skills and techniques. In fact, she brushed off her HTML and CSS skills and learned basics of PHP and Javascript just to make this website!

In her fiber crafts, she makes it a point to always create her own crochet patterns and to make everything to as high of a standard as possible. For illustrations she always tries to create unique, one of a kind designs, dissimilar to anything else found on the market.

She always strives to look for a new angle or an under-represented feature of everyday objects. Nothing is too big or too small of a task for her and she tries her hardest at everything she does.
